I love this. We’ve also skipped a Christmas tree the last years in favor of a few branches in a vase, which is a lovely excuse for a wintry walk to clip some pine and holly in the woods! You are completely right, but I somehow feel that I will never fully internalise this lesson and am doomed to forever spend December chasing my tail!
